Independent Contractor Opportunity
These field-service opportunities are structured as independent contractor engagements and are not W-2 employee positions. Contractors are responsible for their own applicable taxes, insurance, tools, equipment, licensing, registrations, transportation, and other business expenses. Engagement terms, compensation, and requirements are determined by the applicable independent contractor agreement and the scope of services.
Position Overview
Plumbing Contractors provide plumbing repair, maintenance, installation, and improvement services within the contractor's authorized scope of work and applicable licensing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose plumbing issues.
- Perform authorized plumbing repairs and installations.
- Install or replace plumbing fixtures and components.
- Address leaks, drainage issues, and other plumbing problems.
- Follow applicable building codes and safety requirements.
- Provide accurate documentation of completed work.
- Communicate professionally with customers and JM Connect Services.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Identify additional issues requiring attention.
Qualifications
- Professional plumbing experience.
- Required licenses, credentials, or registrations for the work performed.
- Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes.
- Appropriate tools and equipment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Required insurance coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience.
- Residential and/or commercial experience.
- Property management and rental-community experience.
- Ability to provide professional estimates or scopes of work.
Contractor Requirements
- Independent contractor / 1099 engagement
- Required licenses, registrations and certifications where applicable
- Required insurance coverage
- Own tools, equipment and transportation
- Compliance with applicable safety requirements and trade regulations
Important: Any work requiring a licensed plumbing contractor must be performed by a properly licensed professional as required by applicable law.
Independent Contractor Requirements
Independent contractor opportunities are governed by a separate written agreement. Contractors are responsible for maintaining the licenses, registrations, insurance, tools, equipment, transportation, and other business resources required for the services they perform.

- Contractor is responsible for applicable self-employment tax obligations.
- Contractor is responsible for required business registrations and licenses.
- Contractor is responsible for required insurance coverage.
- Contractor provides and maintains required tools and equipment.
- Contractor is responsible for transportation necessary to perform contracted services.
- Contractor must comply with applicable safety requirements and trade regulations.
- Contractor must maintain any required professional licenses or certifications.
- Contractor may accept or decline projects according to the terms of the independent contractor agreement.
- Compensation is based on the applicable project, scope of work, rate agreement, or contractor agreement.
- JM Connect Services does not guarantee a minimum number of projects, hours, or earnings.
These are independent contractor opportunities and are not W-2 employee positions. Independent contractors are not eligible for JM Connect Services employee benefits. Contractors are responsible for their own applicable taxes, insurance, business expenses, tools, equipment, and other contractor obligations.
