These field-service opportunities are structured as independent contractor engagements and are not W-2 employee positions. Contractors are responsible for their own applicable taxes, insurance, tools, equipment, licensing, registrations, transportation, and other business expenses. Engagement terms, compensation, and requirements are determined by the applicable independent contractor agreement and the scope of services.

Position Overview

Safety & Mobility Installation Technicians install residential safety and accessibility products designed to improve mobility, convenience, and safety within homes and other properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install grab bars, handrails, shower safety equipment, and other approved mobility products.
  • Install accessibility and safety hardware according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Evaluate installation locations and identify potential safety concerns.
  • Properly anchor and secure installed equipment.
  • Follow manufacturer instructions and applicable safety requirements.
  • Protect walls, floors, fixtures, and customer property.
  • Perform quality checks after installation.
  • Explain basic use and care of installed products to customers.
  • Document completed installations.

Qualifications

  • Handyman, carpentry, remodeling, or accessibility installation experience.
  • Knowledge of anchors, fasteners, and installation methods.
  • Ability to accurately measure and level installations.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Appropriate tools.
  • Professional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience installing grab bars and accessibility equipment.
  • Experience with home modifications.
  • Knowledge of accessibility principles.
  • Property management or residential community experience.

Contractor Requirements

Independent Contractor Requirements

  • Contractor must comply with applicable safety requirements and trade regulations.
  • Contractor must maintain any required professional licenses or certifications.
  • Contractor may accept or decline projects according to the terms of the independent contractor agreement.
  • Compensation is based on the applicable project, scope of work, rate agreement, or contractor agreement.
  • JM Connect Services does not guarantee a minimum number of projects, hours, or earnings.
